(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) was joined by 200 supporters of his teen dating violence prevention legislation on the steps of the State Capitol to rally support for the measure. Assembly Bill 1880 calls for middle schools and high schools to incorporate dating abuse policies and procedures into the school’s existing safety plans. Assemblymember Lara told the crowd the numbers are startling, one in four adolescents report some form of verbal, emotional or physical dating violence each year. AB 1880 is sponsored by the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence. Here’s more from Assemblymember Lara in this Assembly Access video.
