SACRAMENTO, CA – Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s proposal to weaken the nation’s clean vehicle emissions standard. Senator Lara is the author of SB 1000, which promotes better access to charging infrastructure to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles.
“Millions of Americans are choosing cleaner vehicles, longer lives and lower fuel costs because of clean vehicle standards. California will continue to invest in charging stations to meet consumers’ demand for zero-emission cars and make them available regardless of your income level. I strongly support the 19-state lawsuit led by California to protect these national standards that are reducing harmful emissions and making vehicles more affordable for all. We need cleaner cars.”
