Senator Ricardo Lara Introduces Bill to Track Employees Accused of Misconduct in Schools

 

SACRAMENTO- Last year, California was rocked by news of child abuse cases occurring within the Los Angeles Unified School District. As Chair of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee, Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Long Beach) requested a performance audit of LAUSD to look into the district’s handling of multiple child molestation cases. Today, Senator Lara introduced legislation addressing some of the recommendations.

SACRAMENTO- Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) received his committee assignments for the 2013 legislative year after the Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg released this information today. Senator Lara will serve on the following six committees: Rules, Appropriations, Transportation and Housing, Education, Labor and Industrial Relations, and the Natural Resources and Water.
