Welcome! I’m Senator Lena Gonzalez and I represent the 33rd District. The 33rd District represents nearly 1 million residents of Los Angeles County, including Long Beach, and the Southeast Los Angeles cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lakewood, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, Signal Hill, South Gate, and part of Los Angeles.

I’m honored to represent the working people of the 33rd District who drive California’s economy, from the Port of Long Beach to the transportation corridor that links California to the rest of the country. Sacramento, Calif. – On September 9, 2021, the State Legislature approved SB 606 – Workplace Safety Enforcement by Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) which would implement stronger enforcement measures for egregious and flagrant violations in order to keep workers safe, especially as California continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sacramento, Calif. – On September 9, 2021, the California Legislature greenlighted SB 4 by Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) and AB 14 by Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-Winters), both landmark digital equity bills that will help get families connected to high-speed internet throughout the state. The bills will complement the State’s broadband deployment efforts to ensure infrastructure projects are realized and prioritized for communities that need it most.

A state senator presented checks in the amount of more than $14 million dollars to promote park rehabilitation, inclusive workforce development and health and wellness services in Long Beach.

Sen. Lena A. Gonzalez, D-Long Beach, handed out $14.5 million in state budget discretionary funds to the city of Long Beach, Centro CHA Inc. and TCC Family Health.

Sacramento, Calif. – On August 13, 2021, Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) presented checks to the City of Long Beach, Centro CHA Inc. and TCC Family Health totaling $14.5 million in funds dedicated to park rehabilitation, inclusive workforce development and health and wellness services in Central Long Beach. Funding for these projects was provided from state budget discretionary funds with support from Senator Gonzalez.
