Welcome! I’m Senator Lena Gonzalez and I represent the 33rd District. The 33rd District represents nearly 1 million residents of Los Angeles County, including Long Beach, and the Southeast Los Angeles cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lakewood, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, Signal Hill, South Gate, and part of Los Angeles.

I’m honored to represent the working people of the 33rd District who drive California’s economy, from the Port of Long Beach to the transportation corridor that links California to the rest of the country. Sacramento, Calif. – On August 13, 2021, Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) presented checks to the City of Long Beach, Centro CHA Inc. and TCC Family Health totaling $14.5 million in funds dedicated to park rehabilitation, inclusive workforce development and health and wellness services in Central Long Beach. Funding for these projects was provided from state budget discretionary funds with support from Senator Gonzalez.

Sacramento, Calif. – On August 12, 2021 Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) presented a $350,000 check to the City of Maywood for the renovation of Riverfront Park. Funding for the park was provided from state budget discretionary funds with support from Senator Gonzalez.

Sacramento, Calif. – On July 20th, 2021 Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) and Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-Winters) joined Governor Newsom for the signing of the historic $6 billion broadband infrastructure investment legislation, Assembly Bill (AB) 156, which will provide much needed funds for the deployment of 21st century high-speed broadband infrastructure to help close the digital divide and meet the connectivity needs for more California businesses, individuals, and families.

Sacramento, Calif. – On July 15th, 2021 Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) and Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-Winters) shared the following statements commending the passage of a major broadband budget bill, SB 156, which allocates $6 billion in funds for broadband infrastructure projects. The bill will provide much needed investments and compliment further legislation that seeks to increase access to high-speed, affordable broadband for Californians.
