Voting Resources, Giving Thanks, Community Updates
Dear Neighbor,
Election Day is tomorrow, and I encourage all voters to make their voice heard in this election. Find resources below to help you find vote centers and ballot drop boxes near you, as well as information on your voting rights.
As we prepare to honor our veterans, celebrate Thanksgiving, and recognize Small Business Saturday this November, I want to express my gratitude for all those working to make our community stronger. From those who have served our nation in the military, to the hardworking entrepreneurs, to the community leaders all across Senate District 33 – it is my distinct privilege to represent you in the Senate. I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend more time in the district this fall learning from you, hearing about your priorities, and ensuring that my work in Sacramento reflects our shared values.

Standing with Immigrant Families

I stood alongside CHIRLA, community leaders, and advocates in the City of Commerce in response to the recent federal operation targeting alleged noncitizen voter registration. Our communities deserve to feel safe, supported, and heard. At a time when many families are experiencing fear and uncertainty, I want our immigrant communities to know: you are not alone. I remain committed to standing with our families, protecting their rights, and making sure their voices are heard. For information on immigration rights and resources, visit this immigration page.
Small Business Month and Supporting Our Local Businesses

| Senator Lena Gonzalez speaks at the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games Small Business Procurement Workshop |
Later this month, we will recognize Small Business Saturday. I am committed to helping our local businesses thrive, especially as the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games approach. Recently, I cohosted a workshop with the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) to share insights and resources on how small businesses and nonprofits can access procurement opportunities tied to the Games. By connecting local businesses and nonprofits with these opportunities, we’re working to ensure the economic benefits of the Games reach communities and organizations throughout our district.
On November 28th, 2026, I’ll also be hosting a Small Business Saturday event with the SELA Collaborative to celebrate the hardworking business owners who create jobs, strengthen our local economy, and help our community thrive. For more information about this event and to RSVP, visit my website.

I joined Black Women for Wellness at the 4th Annual Boobs & Bling celebration for a beautiful afternoon of sisterhood, confidence, and raising awareness about women’s health. Thank you to Black Women for Wellness for creating a space that uplifts breast health and empowering women to prioritize their well-being. As your State Senator, I remain committed to advancing health equity, closing disparities in breast cancer outcomes, and protecting access to preventive care.

I joined Dr. Frank Perez and the students and faculty of Long Beach City College for a lively fireside chat. I shared my journey into public service, answered the tough questions that matter most to students, and discussed ways to get involved in the policy process. Topics included affordability, childcare for student parents, jobs, and more. A special thank-you to the students for sharing their concerns and ideas for working together.

I had the pleasure of leading a collaborative discussion on transportation legislation affecting the port drayage community, exploring key opportunities and challenges. I look forward to bringing these insights back to Sacramento. Thank you, Forum Mobility, for bringing together drayage carriers and owners for this important conversation!
El Niño Updates
Now is the time to get El Niño ready and prepare for heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, coastal flooding, and power outages. Governor Newsom has declared a statewide emergency and directed state agencies to pre-position critical supplies, strengthen flood protections, and support local emergency response. Please sign up now for emergency alerts, check your flood risk, clear gutters and drains, secure outdoor items, and prepare an emergency kit and family evacuation plan. For preparedness information, including sandbag locations, visit the Ready CA Resource Hub, the LA County Public Works Sandbag Dashboard, El Niño resources from LA County and the City of Long Beach. You’ll find all of this and more on my website, which we’ll update as new information becomes available.
