Celebrating Black History Month
Dear Neighbor,
We are living in a time when many of our civil liberties and the foundational values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are not only being challenged but also misrepresented. This is a critical moment, marked by intentionally deceptive rhetoric that seeks to divide and distort. It is up to each and every one of us to remain vigilant, to resist these narratives, and to uncover the truth.
That is why, this month—and every month—we honor and recognize the profound significance of Black history and culture. This year’s Black History Month theme, "African Americans and Labor," highlights the invaluable contributions African Americans have made across every industry and profession. Here in Senate District 33, we are proud to celebrate local trailblazers who go above and beyond to uplift and improve the lives of those around them.
Join us in honoring our Black History Month honorees and take the opportunity to learn more about their outstanding achievements in this edition of our newsletter. Together, let’s celebrate their dedication, resilience, and the lasting impact they have on our community.
Let the progress we have collectively achieved and continue to achieve every day, serve as a reminder and a foundation upon which we can continue to build an even stronger, more inclusive future.
