I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend with your loved ones! As we dive into this final month of the year, we’re gearing up for a strong start to 2025.

Today, the Legislature convenes to begin the new two-year legislative session, with newly elected Senators and Assemblymembers being sworn in to officially take on their legislative responsibilities. I’m honored to be taking the oath of office once again, alongside my colleagues, and I invite you to tune in and watch this momentous occasion live.

We’re also kicking off a special session dedicated to safeguarding California’s values and fundamental rights. The special session will focus on bolstering California legal resources to protect civil rights, reproductive freedom, climate action, and immigrant families.

Finally, as we prepare for 2025, I want to hear directly from you about the issues that matter most. Your voice is essential in shaping our efforts for the year ahead.
