Majority Leader Gonzalez Issues Statement on Governor Newsom’s May Revise
Sacramento, Calif. – Majority Leader Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) released the following statement regarding Governor Gavin Newsom’s May Revise today:
"Today, the Governor’s May Revise marks another step in the process toward delivering an on-time and balanced budget for the people of California. As early forecasts last year indicated a budget deficit, discussions between the Legislature and the Governor have been ongoing to safeguard essential programs and services while making strides to reduce the deficit. Preliminary budget actions earlier this year addressed a $17 billion shortfall. I look forward to continuing the dialogue with my colleagues and the Governor's office to reconcile the budget and advance innovative, cooperative, and effective solutions that will benefit our communities.”
