In Signal Hill, Senator Lena Gonzalez Presents $5 Million in Funds for the Renovation and Redesign of the Signal Hill Amphitheater

Signal Hill, Calif. – On October 18, 2022 Senator Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) presented $5 million in state funds for the renovation and redesign of the Signal Hill outdoor amphitheater. This key infrastructure project will support local artists and provide thousands of local residents with a community hub for art activities, cultural resources, and entertainment.

“This is a big win for residents and local artists in our community,” said Senator Lena Gonzalez (D-Long Beach). “I am so proud to have partnered with the community and helped secure funds for the renovation and redesign of the Signal Hill outdoor amphitheater. Enhancing our open spaces has great benefits for our community, from promoting mental health and exercise to providing a safe place for people to gather and share their passion for music, dance, theatre, and diverse cultural traditions.”

Senator Gonzalez represents the 33rd Senate District, which includes the City of Long Beach and portions of South Los Angeles and Southeast Los Angeles including the cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lakewood, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, Signal Hill, and South Gate. Senator Gonzalez lives in Long Beach with her family.

Mayor Keir Jones has lived in Signal Hill for the past twelve years and is an active community member. Mayor Jones is a small business owner and he currently serves as President of the Signal Hill Community Foundation.
