SACRAMENTO, Calif. — On the eve of Independence Day, California lawmakers in the state legislature approved a resolution to denounce the federal immigration raids and to show solidarity with immigrant communities.

State Sen. Lena Gonzalez, chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, says it’s critical for lawmakers to speak up against the federal immigration enforcement operations and show support for those impacted.
