Big Win to Protect Neighborhoods from Oil Drilling Pollution!
Implementation can now begin for Senate Bill 1137, which I authored in 2022 to require 3,200-foot setbacks protecting neighborhoods from oil drilling pollution, following the withdrawal of the oil industry's referendum aiming to overturn the law.

This legislation will strengthen worker protections, encourage employer compliance, streamline litigation processes, and avert a contentious ballot measure.
