BHM 2025 Spotlight Nominations
Dear neighbor,
As we approach Black History Month, I am excited to announce that I am accepting nominations to spotlight remarkable individuals who live or work within Senate District 33.
In 2026, Black History Month marks 100 years of national observance, an important milestone that invites us to reflect on the legacy, impact, and continued importance of honoring Black history and excellence. This year’s theme explores how these commemorations have shaped our communities over time and how they continue to inspire future generations.
I invite you to nominate someone who embodies this legacy, whether they have led or supported Black History Month events, uplifted others through their work, or made a positive difference in our community by volunteering their time. This is an opportunity to honor those whose dedication, leadership, and service deserve to be recognized.
If you know someone whose contributions should be celebrated, please consider submitting a nomination.
The deadline is January 26, 2026.
Submit your nomination HERE.
Thank you for helping us honor and celebrate the individuals who strengthen our communities and make Senate District 33 proud.
Sincerely,
Lena Gonzalez
33rd State Senate District
