Celebrate Safely this 4th of July 

Please stay safe as you celebrate with your family, friends and loved ones. Below you will find useful information on the use of fireworks and resources to find a professional show near you in Senate District 33!

LA County

  • The sale and use of "Safe and Sane" fireworks in your community may be prohibited by local ordinance (check with your local fire department) or click here for a list of cities in LA County that allow “safe and sane” fireworks.
  • All fireworks are prohibited in unincorporated Los Angeles County.
  • If they are allowed, "Safe and Sane" fireworks can only be purchased from a State Fire Marshal licensed retail stand from noon on June 28, 2026 through noon on July 6, 2026.
  • You can learn about professional firework shows taking place in your community by visiting LA County’s Fireworks Safety webpage ( a listing of professional fireworks shows across Los Angeles County, will be available on the webpage starting Thursday, June 25, 2026) or by calling the FIREWORKS HOTLINE at (888) 654-3473.

City of Long Beach

Lakewood

  • To report illegal fireworks in the City of Lakewood and learn more about safe-and-sane fireworks that are permitted for use in the City, please visit the Lakewood Fireworks portal. 

     

City of Signal Hill 

  • Fireworks, including those marked "safe and sane", are illegal in the City of Signal Hill. You can access the city's ordinance here.

  • The California Department of Public Health fireworks safety page that allows you to easily find your local fireworks laws, how to handle fireworks, pet safety tips and more. To learn more, please visit the CDPH Fireworks page.

4th of July Events (in or near SD33)

Long Beach Coastline Firework Show July 4, 2026 l 9 p.m. Location: Fireworks barges will be stationed near the Queen Mary, off the coastline near Cherry Avenue and near Bay Shore Avenue. Fireworks should be visible from anywhere along Long Beach’s expansive coastline, but popular spots will include Bixby Park, Bluff Park, Shoreline Aquatic Park and near Rosie’s Dog Beach. Make sure to bring a folding chair or blanket and get there early to secure a good view.


Pacific Palisades 4th of July Celebration
July 4, 2026 l 4- 9:00 p.m.
Kids under 6 enter the fireworks show for free.  Gates open at 8 pm for the fireworks show; the sky lights up at 9 pm.  Bring camping chairs and blankets.  VIP parking is available; locals are encouraged to walk due to limited parking.  Strollers welcome! Marina Del Rey 4th of July Fireworks
July 4, 2026 l 9:00 p.m.
Find a spot around Marina Del Rey to watch the fireworks over the water.  Public lots open for paid parking.  Sound systems for corresponding music set-up at Burton Chace Park and around Marina Village. For more information, visit the MarinaDel Rey 4th of July Fireworks page.

 

Port of Los Angeles Cares & Stripes Forever!
San Pedro - FREE
Friday, June 26, 2026
This early fireworks show includes an impressive car show, live music, and food trucks. A shuttle service runs from Downtown San Pedro. Strollers are welcome.

 

5th Annual Independence Day Drone Light Show Festival
Sylmar - FREE
Sunday, June 28, 2026
Celebrate America early at this drone show that is perfect for littles with sensitive ears who may not enjoy the fireworks shows later in the week. Parking at Hansen Dam is ample. Bring chairs or blankets for the drone show.

 

Bob Blumenfield's July 4th Extravaganza
Woodland Hills - FREE
Saturday, July 4, 2026
This free show draws a major crowd every year.  Kids can enjoy pre-fireworks activities.  Make sure to purchase parking for easy access.  Arrive early to secure a spot, and bring your own chairs and blankets. The fireworks show begins at 9 pm.
