June is Pride Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the work of LGBTQ+ people and raising awareness of LGBTQ+ history and the issues that affect this community. It is about feeling proud of who you are, and I am very excited to celebrate Pride Month and re-commit to fighting for LGBTQ+ rights and equality for all.

Are you familiar with the term AANHPI? AANHPI is an acronym for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander. This May is AANHPI Heritage Month and Team Gonzalez is celebrating by uplifting the voices and contributions of AANHPI residents. Know someone from the AANHPI community doing great work in Senate District 33? Make sure to nominate them to be recognized by our office this month!

Earth Day is around the corner and Team Gonzalez is taking action all month at local events to help beautify Senate District 33, celebrate the planet’s natural resources and create awareness about the urgent need for climate solutions.

At the Capitol, two of my bills SB 1087 Catalytic Converter Theft Prevention and SB 1173 Fossil Fuel Divestment passed key committees and are moving forward in the legislative process.

My team and I have been hard at work developing a legislative package that represents our priorities and values as a District and as a State. I am excited to share more about my 2022 Legislative Package that now has over a dozen bills, one which has already been signed into law and some of which are quickly advancing in the legislative process.

March is Women's History Month and each year my office honors deserving women of distinction and service in our district, I am very excited to share with you about our 2022 Woman of the Year!

February is such a busy and exciting month! We had the Superbowl, the Winter Olympics, Valentine’s Day and we continue to celebrate Black History Month.

It is also a significant time at the Capitol, bill introductions are finalized, and I have information to share on my new bills SB 972 to support street vendors and SB 1173 to fight climate change.

We are hitting the ground running, as we kick off the New Year, and I wanted to share some big updates with you.

What an exciting new year! The California Legislature has reconvened, and I was back at the Capitol last week for our first regular session of 2022.

Team Gonzalez is finishing 2021 strong, participating in many festive events throughout the entire district, visiting a renewable energy facility in Paramount, a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of a Homeless Drop-In Service Center in South LA and much more!
