Every year on March 31st, we celebrate the life and legacy of César Chávez, an incredible champion for the people who continues to inspire us as we fight for social justice and the rights of workers. In partnership with Dolores Huerta, he co-founded the United Farm Workers and led efforts that gave farmworkers the right to unionize and advocate for better working conditions. Let's remember his unwavering commitment to uplifting marginalized communities and renew our dedication to creating a more just and inclusive society in his honor.

Happy Women’s History Month to the trailblazers, innovators, and leaders who make our community great each and every day! This year we celebrated many amazing Wonder Women from our Senate District 33 and I invite you to learn more about them and join us in thanking them for their great achievements and contributions in our community. 

Have you heard the news? Senate President pro Tempore, Mike McGuire recently announced the Senate Democratic Leadership Team and committee membership assignments for the 2024 Legislative year.

If California were a nation‚ it would be among the top ten economies in the world–and in fact‚ it is poised to become the fourth largest economy.

The holidays are here, and before we turn the page on 2023, my team and I would like to extend our personal thanks to you—for showing up, to help us make a positive difference in our community. Eight bills I authored this year were signed into law by the Governor! Much of this success is due to the input received from local residents like yourself. Thank you for actively participating in the legislative process through your calls, emails, and letters to help shape policies for both the District and the state.

After an incredible week of intense debate in the Capitol chambers, final presentations in committee hearings, engaging meetings with community members, and a flurry of inquiries from the press on my bills’ developments, we’ve now reached the end of California’s 2023 legislative session.
